Why do I play Hero Siege?

Hero Siege attracts many players who want to relive the glory days of Diablo. Others enjoy the game for its challenging difficulty. As for me, I was curious about the game after hearing so many people talk about it as a mobile version of Diablo.

My instinctive curiosity led me to download and try the game. After playing for a few days, I have a few comments to share about Hero Siege. Let’s see if you feel the same way.

The story

Beneath the land of Tarethiel, a group of power-hungry priests have united the four pieces of the guardian stele in secret. Their aim is to awaken the ghostly legions sealed beneath the dungeon and ultimately unleash the great evil Satan from hell. As the hero of the story, it’s up to you to stop their plan and prevent humanity’s downfall. Prepare for a long and challenging battle in the depths of the dungeon…

Gameplay

Like many hack ‘n’ slash games with roguelike and RPG elements, the storyline in Hero Siege is not particularly noteworthy. It serves primarily as a pretext for engaging in massive battles in dark dungeons, with the objective of destroying numerous big and small monsters of all types. At the conclusion of each level, you must defeat a boss in order to advance to the next level.

To introduce some variety to the battles, the publisher has cleverly integrated various sub-maps in the form of small puzzles. These can be enjoyable diversions, but they are not necessarily beneficial to your progress. It is best to focus on fighting monsters and defeating bosses in order to accumulate Gold Coins, which can be used to purchase temporary power-ups.

Temporary or permanent power-up items will appear during battles, enabling you to enhance your character’s stats and skills. The more you fight, the more interesting things you will come across, such as randomly appearing accessories to support your character. Leveling up grants you two points that can be allocated to the primary stats, such as attack power, attack speed, defense, health, and skill points. Choosing which stats to increase depends on the situation and the strategy of each player.

All of the character’s skills are passive, with the exception of some special skills that can be randomly acquired in each level. With a dense system of accessories and upgrades to support your character, there are always small surprises worth looking forward to in Hero Siege.

About monsters and character classes

Hero Siege: Pocket Edition boasts an impressive character movement system, allowing players to control their characters with ease and fluidity using the emulator buttons. The characters move quickly and can shoot while on the move, making for a more active and exciting experience. However, the enemies are equally fast, requiring players to strategize in order to defeat them. The game features over 80 bosses and hundreds of smaller monsters.

The maps in Hero Siege: Pocket Edition are diverse and visually appealing, each with a unique color tone and texture. The variety of monsters, ranging from skeletons to horrifying creatures, keeps the game engaging.

The game offers a range of character classes, each with their own fighting style and unique skills, and different weapons to wield, such as Viking axes, Pyromancer fire spells, Nomad swords, and Pirate pistols.

While the graphics have a 16-bit style, reminiscent of classic games like Diablo, the lighting and motion effects are impressive and add to the game’s difficulty. Smoke from battles often obscures the screen, making it harder for players to see their surroundings.
