The Pros
Price: This is obviously a big plus, with it being able to be picked up for less than $200 it is a cheap option for a treadmill. It is a manual treadmill and you would expect it to be a more affordable alternative to the electrically powered models. This price makes the treadmill an attractive option for those looking for their first treadmill or if they only have limited space. The belt is narrow at 17 inches, but it has a length of 42 inches it long enough for walking for most people. There aren’t many other treadmills priced lower.
Assembly: Some care needs to be taken in putting it together properly but it is a fairly straightforward job. One person can do this easily and there and it only has a few parts. The parts are clearly labeled and the instructions are easy to follow and well written.
One thing that is needed to be done correctly is the alignment of the running belt. It is pretty straightforward but a bit of time is needed to get the belt properly centered. If it is not centered the belt will not run freely and it might end up in damage to your treadmill. Assembly should only take about an hour at the most.
Storage: If you don’t have a lot of space, it is an ideal treadmill. It is to fold it up into a vertical position. It can then be easily fitted into a wardrobe, against a wall or under a bed. It folds up into a space of 18 by 26 by 47.5 inches. The Stamina In Motion from reviews is easy to fold, maneuver and doesn’t take up much room when folded up. Great for storing when not in use. Because it is light (56lbs) and has two wheel at its bottom it is easy to move and transport at the drop of a hat.
Sturdy: Unfortunately you do find with a lot of light and cheap treadmills that they aren’t really made for any type of extended or regular use. But, the Stamina In Motion treadmill appears to be able to handle this. It is designed for weight up to 250lbs and can actually deliver on this unlike a lot of the cheaper priced manual treadmills around. It also seems that although it is a lightweight treadmill it doesn’t feel that way when exercising. This a pleasant surprise for this type of treadmill.
The Cons
Steep Incline: It has only two incline settings of either 8 degrees or 10 degrees. This is fine if you are looking for a tough workout program, but it can be a bit of limitation. These inclines can seem a bit too steep for some people and they need to hold on to the support frame to keep their balance. This can seem unnatural and uncomfortable, however you are always going to feel less balanced than you find when using an electric treadmill. This is expected, but some find the Stamina InMotion to be more so than expected.
Sticky Belt: The running belt can sometimes stick, which is annoying to say the least. This can be found with many manual treadmills. It isn’t difficult to get it moving again, it does happen to often. You would think this would be an easy fix for the manufacturer.
Noise: The lack of noise of manual treadmills is one of the advantages that tey have over electric treadmills. It is not super-loud at all, but you will notice it makes more noise than some other comparable manual treadmills. As you up the speed the louder it gets.
Who Should Buy The Stamina InMotion II Manual Treadmill?
If you are wanting one of the lowest priced manual treadmills available, then this treadmill is definitely worth considering. It also doesn’t take up much room, it is considered easy to use and it is definitely a well-priced treadmill.
But, if you want a treadmill that provides more functionality and a better exercise experience there are a few different options that will give you a fuller workout and be more comfortable. These will cost slightly more but you will be getting a better workout.
