Braun 7526 Syncro Shaver System Review

Braun continuously produces quality shavers that are both innovative and appealing. A lot of the newer Braun shavers are ergonomically designed making them easy to handle and more efficient. I recently stumbled across the Braun 7526 Syncro Shaver System. Probably like a lot of guys, I had not heard of the Syncro Shaver System as Braun is better known for the Clean and Renew System.

The Syncro Shaver System is very similar to the Clean and Renew System (they are actually the same cleaning system, just given a different name for some reason). The Syncro System cleans and charges, lubricates and dries your shaving unit just as with many models of the Clean and Renew (some models do not offer drying).

The main difference that I’ve noticed in systems is the Syncro does not offer a fast clean feature. It does however offer a 3 minute quick charge and can operated corded or cordless. Also, refill cartridges on the Syncro System are a lot cheaper than that for the Clean and Renew.

Let’s take a look at some of the features and technology that went into making the Braun 7526 and how this model compares with other models such as the Series 7 790cc.

Braun 7526 Syncro Shaver System Features

I really like the large head on the Braun 7526. It oscillates side to side and has four way moving action allowing it to adapt to the contours of your face. One really cool feature on the Braun 7526, that a lot of other Braun shavers lack, is the ability to lock the head in place. This can come in handy for shaving thick hair or those hard to shave areas. This gives you more control as the head wil no longer move around to adapt to your face making it more solid.

The 7526 has twin foils and an integrated cutter powered by an 8500 RPMs motor. The holes on the foils are 60% larger than on most foils making it easier to cut longer hair. This also reduces time spent shaving as more surface area can be covered in less time. Not having to go over the same area several times significantly reduces the chance of getting razor burn.

A full charge can be achieved in 50 minutes which provides 50 minutes of shave time. As I stated, the Syncro System charges and cleans. However, you can set it to only charge, only clean, or both. If you don’t shave daily or don’t have really thick hair you can save on refill cartridges by using the cleaning feature as needed instead of every time. However, I recommend cleaning the unit at least after every other shave.

If you are looking for a travel shaver, the Braun 7526 is a great choice. It comes with a cleaning brush, features a full width pop-up trimmer, leather traveling case and supports worldwide voltage. No matter where you are at, with 110 to 240 adaptable voltages, the 7526 will work.

Braun 7526 Syncro Shaver System Refill Cartridges

braun 7526 syncro shaver clean and renew refill cartridgesThe Braun 7526 uses “Syncro Shaver Clean and Renew” refill cartridges. Refill cartridges can be purchased in either single packs or multiple packs for additional savings. One cartridge lasts for 30 days worth of cleaning. If you’re not using the cleaning system daily, you may only need to replace cartridges once every other month or so.

Personally, I only shave twice per week so one cartridge will last me about 3 to 4 months. Buying in bulk can really help curb some of the costs. I recommend getting packs of three which cost a little less than $20. You can purchase refill cartridges through the link provided below and save up to 23% off of retail with a 12 pack bundle (12 is expensive though, even with the savings, I’d go with the three or six pack).

We’ve talked a bit about the cleaning and charging station as well as the Braun 7526 shaver itself and refill cartridges. Now let’s take a look at what guys who own the 7526 have to say about their experience and level of satisfaction with this shaver and cleaning station.

What Guys are saying about the Braun 7526 Syncro Shaver System

braun 7526Based on over 200 reviews, the Braun 7526 received an average 4 star rating out of a possible 5. Most guys have been completely satisfied with their purchase and have made comments such as:

“To my amazement, it really does give a very close shave”, as well as, “I have a fairly thick beard and this guy takes it off smooth like a razor.”

In trying to provide unbiased reviews, I always search for common complaints and follow up the best I can to make sure you are getting both the pros and the cons. The most common complaints about the Braun 7526 is the refill cartridges are expensive and the shaver does not provide a razor like close shave.

Refill cartridges are actually really inexpensive. Especially when you consider the fact that they are prolonging the life cycle of your shaver. It’s not uncommon with proper use for your shaver to last 7 to 10 years.

As far as the quality of shave, nothing is going to cut as close as a razor. However, the number one reason for a low quality shave with an electric shaver is improper use. If you are not using your shaver correctly or not using all the features such as the locking head, you will not get the greatest of results.

All things taken into consideration, I think the Braun 7526 is one of Braun’s better electric shavers. It has some really nice features that stand out against comparable shavers.
