Life Fitness R1 Recumbent LifeCycle with Advanced Console Review

Life Fitness R1 Recumbent LifeCycle with Advanced Console Review

This recumbent exercise bike has 10 workgroups, 20 levels of resistance and an advanced workout console. The chest strap, which is a polar wireless, is included, so that heart rates can be monitored, not only by contact but it also has hand sensors as well. It has a range of motion up to 20 degrees and a reclining seat with a back made of mesh-like, breathable fabric.

With a built-in reading rack, an accessory tray that is nicely oversized, and handlebars mounted on not just the front and not just the sides… But both. The frame carries a lifetime warranty, so it is obviously both sturdy and durable, with a maximum weight capacity of 400 pounds, 100 pounds more than many other machines of this caliber. The rest of the parts carry a 3-year warranty. This bike includes more than 4 controlled workouts, which are HeartSync, designed to make the most of your heart rate target zone.

One reviewer who is used to working out in a gym bought this home version of the machine to use there. One of her favorite features is the continuous self-adjustment of the Life Fitness R1 machine in order to keep the heart rate at a steady pace. You work, and as you tire the resistance lessens, thereby keeping your heart rate at a steady pace; because the exertion you must put forth lessens along with the resistance. Also impressive is its sturdy build and solid stance. You never feel like you’re going to tip over or fall off.

Setup time took roughly 90 minutes and the instructions were concise and clear. Any tools that you need for assembly are included in the package, which is great, as we don’t all have toolkits at our disposal. Another reviewer said that they had been hoping for something like this since the mid eighties. It’s sort of a dream come true for them. This person first used a recumbent bike in the Navy, but had trouble with weight gain after leaving the service. Thanks to the Life Fitness R1, exercise became fun again. He was concerned at first because most machines max out at 300 pounds; but after discovering that the R1 bike maxes out at a 400-pound user, he couldn’t wait to try it out.
