Sunny Magnetic Elliptical Trainer Reviews

The Sunny Magnetic Elliptical Trainer is aimed at those people who are in the market looking for an affordable elliptical trainer. It is priced at around $150 making it in the acceptable price range of most people except for those on a very restricted budget. It will probably appeal to those people who want to save time and money exercising in their own home rather than going to the expense of gym memberships and having to make the time to go to the gym.

There are a number of elliptical trainers that are in this price range. Unfortunately, they are not really that reliable or sufficiently comfortable to be a worthwhile alternative to those more highly priced machines. When you buy an exercise machine you will want a machine that is reliable and can handle the stress of exercise not one that the only attraction is the price.

The Sunny Magnetic Elliptical Trainer utilizes magnetic resistance to provide the resistance training. It weighs 68 lbs and can accommodate users up to 220 lbs The display allows you to monitor time, calories burnt, speed and heart rate. The pedals are large with an anti-slip design. This all looks good but does it really live up to expectations when it is put to the test and how does it compare with the more expensive models?

The Pros

Beginner Machine: As with any type of fitness equipment, an elliptical trainer is not for everyone. Many people do find it an efficient and comfortable way to workout, however others want a little more variety in their workouts than that offered by an elliptical trainer. It is because of this reason that this trainer is a good starter machine. You get a small light machine that is fairly easy to move around and you can try out an elliptical trainer at an affordable price. It provides for a moderate level of exercise that is ideal for beginners and you can scale resistance and difficulty in easy to handle increments.

Assembly: It is fairly straightforward to assemble. One person can put it together in about 1 1/2 hours. A second person will help to speed up the process, and will definitely be a big help when you come to attaching the cable.

Weight: Weighing in at only 68 lbs makes this one of the lighter machines available on the market today. Being this weight makes it easy to move around and put in a corner for storage when it isn’t in use. The weight of the machine also makes the assembly of the machine much more manageable for one person to put it together.

Considering that it is a light machine it quite well balanced at sturdy. There is not much movement at all reported by users when walking or at jogging pace but when you start to move at a faster pace it does move around. If you have wooden floors it is advisable to put down a mat to protect them from the hard bars at the bottom of the machine.

Cost: The price is an obvious plus for this machine and the fact most people find it a reliable piece of fitness equipment is another plus point. Especially as many people spend a lot more than they need to on higher priced trainers.

It is important to note it is not at the same level of reliability and usability as a gym or professional elliptical trainer. The manufacturer does not make this claim for it. But many users don’t want a gym standard machine and are unlikely to use a machine to that level of capacity. Some people spend extra on their fitness equipment because they believe it will make their workouts easier; however it can be worth considering less costly machines to see if they will meet their needs before making their minds up. The Sunny Magnetic is more than suitable for moderate levels of exercise.

The Cons

Stride Length: The most significant negative of this trainer is that it only has a limited stride length. If you are tall, you are going to feel very restricted when using the machine. It provides a good length of stride for users up to 5’5″ tall. People over this height tend to find the short stride length uncomfortable. It can still be used but people over 6′ tall are probably best looking at other machines. You need to think about this when considering this machine as the short stride length can take some time to get used to it.

Pace Limits: For the reasons given above under the Pros section it is a good machine for beginners and those wanting to do moderate exercise only, it not really suitable for anyone to exercise at faster speeds. It is too light and not balanced enough to be used for high speed exercise. I assume most people looking for more intense exercise will not be considering a machine priced around $150 but it is worth taking into account in your buying decision.

Should You Buy The Sunny Magnetic Elliptical Trainer?

This depends on how you are planning to use it. Experienced users will probably find it not up to scratch and tall users many not like it either. If you want to do intense cardio workouts or have a longer stride this machine is not really suitable.

If you want an elliptical trainer for beginners that is low priced it could be a great machine to start with. You can build up resistance levels at gentle increments to gradually increase the level of difficulty of your workout. It is lightweight so can be easily moved around the house and straightforward to assemble and is one of lowest priced elliptical trainers available. It is for these reasons the Sunny Magnetic Elliptical Trainer is a popular choice for anyone looking for moderate levels of exercise at an affordable price.
