It heats the water via two heating coils (compared to one on most other machines) to a temperature of 203F. And this is the main secret of this drip coffee maker. This is what makes the coffee taste so great, as easy as that.
The coffee maker has a capacity of 1.25 Liters. This is suitable enough to ensure that your entire family is served with ease. You do not need to keep on preparing coffee for the better part of the morning. Looking at the power consumption, this machine operates at a normal level, nothing special about it. 1400 Watt. So even though it has all that special heating equipment inside to produce and maintain a high temperature, it still has a way of ensuring that your electricity bills stay on a normal level.

It cant be all good, can it?
Despite the fact that you could conclude that this is the best among the drip coffee makers that you have ever heard of, there is the other side of the coin that has to be looked at.
The only technical concern one could see in that machine has to do with the thermo carafe. The pour lip has no dimple and if you pour with the screw-in lid, it can sometimes spread a bit along the lip and therefore cause some spilling. On the other hand, if you loosen the lid, turn it to the proper 1/4 positions and pour slowly, the coffee comes out just fine with no issues at all. Maybe this is intended from Technivorm since all other parts of the machine are very well engineered. You could also remove the lid to pour, but obviously you want your brewed coffee to stay hot for as long as possible. Great tasting hot coffee is the main feature of this machine after all.
And yes, as you probably expected by now, The Technivorm Moccamaster is not the cheapest in the line of the drip coffee makers. But you will for sure spend your money on something that is worth the price in that case. While its list price is US$ 336.00, you might find it for less than 300 Bucks
