Some of the common complaints about the Braun Series 5 590cc were the cost of refill cartridges for the clean & Renew System. Some guys have gone as far as simply making their own solution and pouring it into a cartridge. I wouldn’t recommend any modifications as this could void the 2 year warranty.
The cartridges cost about $5 a piece but last for 30 days, and that is using it daily.
